BUDDHISM Buddhism currently has about 365 million followers and is generally listed as the world's fourth largest religion after Christianity, Islam and Hinduism. It was founded in Northern India by Siddhartha Gotama. The word comes from 'budhi', meaning 'to awaken'. Siddhartha Gotama was not, nor did he claim to be a God. He was a man who taught a path to enlightenment from his own experience. Buddhists sometimes pay respect to images of the Buddha, not in worship, nor to ask for favors. A statue of the Buddha with hands rested gently in its lap and a compassionate smile reminds us to strive to develop peace and love within ourselves. Bowing to the statue is an expression of gratitude for the teaching . The Buddha taught many things, but the basic concepts in Buddhism can be summed up by the Four Noble Truths and the Noble Eightfold Path.
CHRISTIANITY & ISLAM Christianity was founded in the early 1st century AD, with the teaching, miracles, crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus of Nazareth. Today it is the largest religion in the world, with around 2 billion followers. Especially dominant in the western world, today's Christianity has a wide variety of forms, beliefs and practices but all center around faith in Jesus Christ. Islam is the second largest religion and until today it keeps growing. Estimates of the total number of Muslims range from 0.7 to 1.2 billion worldwide and 1.1 to 7 million in the U.S. They believe that there is no God, but that Muhammad is the messenger. The theology of the Islamic scriptures informs most aspects of Muslim life and culture. The Five Pillars of Islam is expressed in the Koran, which is a practical doctrine that encourages Muslims to pray 5 times a day, fast during Ramadan, travel to Mecca, declare 'There is no god but God, and Muhammad is his prophet' and pay money to the poor

Today’s Issues The main issues in Southeast Asia are finding jobs, population growth, and also pollution.
Finding Jobs Finding is a big issue in southeast Asia. The People prefer to have a job with long hours, low pay and abusive managers than not have a job. People move to cities to find jobs. The factor that push people out of their home lands are lost resources like water overuse. They also leave because they don’t have enough land to make a living by farming. When the population grows people have to divide among heirs, therefore the plots become to small to support a family. There are also pull factors that pull people to cities.Theses things are Like finding factory jobs to get money for their families. They also go to cities to get an education.
