2. Intro
• Mary Cassatt had many paintings that inspired
people. She was born on May 22, 1844 in Allegheny
City, Pennsylvania. Mary was never married. Most of
the paintings that she did was human, non-fiction
pictures. Her family moved to Europe then Germany.
Later, her brother died of a bone disease. After that
tragedy, her family had moved to the U.S.A.. Mary
also studied french.
3. One of her Paintings
• One of her paintings was called Little Ann Sucking Her
fingers. Notice how the mother is gently holding her
baby and how the baby is wearing a white silk dress.
The mother has a red bun in her hair and the baby has
bright red hair.
4. Another Painting if Hers
• This is another painting called The Boating Party. the
mother is sitting down, and holding her baby very
gently. The child looks very happy. There is a man
who is rowing the boat for the both of them. This is
one of my very favorite paintings by Mary Cassatt.
