1. How to Find Blood Pressure Using A
Sphygmomanometer
1) Attach cuff to patient, ensure stethoscope is over brachial
artery.
2) Raise pressure of cuff until patient's pulse in patient's arm
stops. Continue raising pressure 30 mmHg past this point.
3) Slowly lower pressure in cuff until 2 consecutive heart
beats are heard. This is the systolic pressure.
4) Continue to lower pressure in cuff until beats are no longer
heard. This is the diastolic pressure.
