1. I pledged to the team that we should use an
ideology from SHANK when Bashy punches the
screen and the next shot shows the end of the
trailer. The team has decided to use this
creativity in our trailer.
The speed of the editing will be fast as the non-
diegetic music will be near the end of the
suspense making it the perfect ending to the
trailer. This shot lasted for 1-1.50 seconds. The
stressed, angry imposed facial expression with
the fist connecting to the camera leaves the
audience with an enigma –
2. For the opening sequence, I want to use the
last shots from the film SHANK. Instead of the
film cutting to the intertitles & credits, it will
show the distributors and producers of the film
RANSOM.
A fade into the close up of the gang leaders
face saying “Where’s my money?” then an over
the shoulder shot will be applied with the
victim saying “I ain’t got no money fam!” then
the next shot will show the gang leader in a
medium close up striking the camera with a
ferocious blow with the next shots viewing the
producers and distributors of the film
3. The main soundtracks we wanted to input in
this trailer was from the Inception trailer
From around half-way through the soundtrack
to the end, it begins suspense and slowly ends
with a sound effect, then it does a “bang”
uncomfortable sound. These ideologies within
the soundtrack is set to scare and shock people
with its hazardous slow tempo up beating
sound. This fits perfectly within our trailer as
the middle consists of suspense rising and
cutting off at the end.
4. The team has decided to add a split-screen effect just similar to Kill Bill and the TV
series 24. We suggested it adds to the suspense of the trailer with straight quick shots
of each split-screen.
5. The team decided we should use two soundtracks from the movie Inception as the
suspense in the soundtracks change regularly which is what is needed for our trailer.
The BASS is what makes the soundtrack frightening. Every two seconds there is certain
kick in the music increasing to one second per kick raising the suspense. This will
increase the effect of the audience wanting more from the trailer.
