Carolyn Davidson Carolyn Davidson is the creator of the Nike Swoosh. Davidson designed the swoosh in 1971 while a graphic design student at Portland State University State. For her services, she billed the company $35. The swoosh became an instantly-recognizable insignia for Nike around the world, and Davidson continued working for what is now Nike, Inc.
Bodys Isek Kingelez Bodys Isek Kingelez (born 1948) creates artefact. He is a sculptor, mostly known for his models of cities made of cardboard, paper and plastic. His models of entire cities reflect the sprawling and anarchic metropolis of Kinshasa or other African megacities, offering a futurist vision of the African city. His models frequently incorporate materials found in the urban world, such as bottle caps, corrugated cardboard or tinfoil. This mirrors the widespread practice of recycling found in Kinshasa or other African cities.
Elizabeth le Court Elizabeth Lecourt uses maps to sculpt clothing. “Les Robes Geographiques” a line of map-wear which is not to be worn but to be watched and admired. This talented artist has pressed and ironed 60 pieces of unreal attire, mostly pleated dresses and button-down shirts made out of modern maps. The clothes are all made from paper maps folded and attached together in very traditional dress and shirt forms.
Artefact in the Past Artefact in the past were usually hand-made. For example traditional clay pots were made by mud or clay with no help from machines. They would often use natural things to make artefact. Artefact were usually sculptures, pots ,paintings or masks in the past
Artefact Today Artefact today can be both hand made and also made using technology. Modern artefact changed how people make them because before, people spent time making it by hand but now there’s machines to help. For example modern pots can be made by hand but instead waiting for the pot to harden, people can use the kiln which is a Morden technology. Kiln
