This handout is meant to provide basic FAQ related to copyright law for artists of any medium. Because we regularly help writers, visual artists, and others, we find these are the most commonly asked questions. The information in this handout is for informational purposes only and should not be considered legal advice. Because each individual’s situation is unique, please consult an attorney.

November 20, 2019, it was my great pleasure to present a special lecture on Artificial Intelligence and Application in the Legal Domain. In this lecture I discuss how the development of machines that can learn, reason and act intelligently – Artificial Intelligence (AI) – is advancing rapidly in the legal domain. In some areas, machine intelligence have even already surpassed the limits of what the brightest human minds are capable of achieving, especially in the field of eDiscovery and Legal Review of large data set. In others, machines still struggle with seemingly basic tasks. Nonetheless, breakthroughs in AI already have profound impact on the legal profession. AI is set to improve our world now and will continue to do so in the future. At the same time, there is the fear of losing control. This lecture was part of a larger series on AI organized by our department of data science and knowledge engineering: https://www.maastrichtuniversity.nl/events/artificial-intelligence. Bloggers face a lot of legal issues. More and more citizen journalists are facing defamation and invasion of privacy lawsuits. The presentation will discuss some of the legal issues confronting bloggers, how to avoid common pitfalls, and how to ensure legitimate speech is protected. This presentation was presented by Donald R. Simon, J.D./LL.M. at the SMCKC March'2011 Breakfast. Donald is a former intellectual property attorney and now business consultant. His firm concentrates in assisting media- and arts-based entrepreneurs. don@simonbizconsulting.com Twitter: @simonbizconsult Web: www.simonbizconsulting.com Blog: www.ThinkBigKC.co

Business operations and activities should be conducted legally in today’s highly competitive business environment to safeguard the brand’s entity and reputation. It is against the law to copy material that a person does not own. A person who owns a business may be subject to a variety of legal and corporate consequences. Furthermore, the government may restrict the owner’s or his Company’s items, resulting in consumer loss. Plagiarism is not confined to writing pieces. It is commonly employed with writing works, research submissions, and academic papers. If someone has talked about something and you use it exactly as they said it, you are also committing Plagiarism. As a result, it is critical for all company owners, business professionals, and even public speakers to be aware of this issue.

Your Road Map to Success: Section 5.3 Learning Outcome 5.3: Demonstrate an understanding of how copyright law and the concepts of public domain, fair use, and open access are all foundational to appropriate citation when quoting, paraphrasing, and summarizing information. Why is this important? Having an understanding of copyright law and intellectual property can keep you out of legal trouble online and in school, as well as prevent other people from stealing your ideas and work. For example, Yolanda has been blogging about her family life ever since she had her first child. Since the blog has been gaining in popularity, she realizes she needs to be more careful about the images she posts. Although it is legal for her to post the family pictures she takes, she needs to consider who else might be using them and in what context. She also realizes she shouldn’t be using images from other websites without first getting permission from the owners—just as she wouldn’t want her family photos to be used on other websites without her knowledge. How does this relate to your success in this course? Mastering this learning outcome will help you maintain your academic integrity and avoid violating your school’s policies on academic dishonesty. Chapter 1 briefly introduced the ACRL threshold concept information has value. Information can be considered a commodity, a method of education, a way to influence, and a means of understanding the world around you. Let’s take a closer look at how information can be considered a commodity. The monetary value we place on certain types of information designates them as a commodity. Think of how much money you spend on the purchase of books, movies, magazines, newspapers, and cable subscriptions, not to mention Internet access. Society recognizes the amount of time, thought, and resources that go into the creation of information and places a monetary value on this process. Now think about the information you consume online. Much of it seems free to access; however, the hidden cost of doing so includes your exposure to advertising and the access you provide to your personal information, such as your browsing habits, which we discussed in Chapter 3. It’s clear, then, that all information has value. Students who are developing their abilities in the information has value threshold concept respect the intellectual work of others by crediting the source of original ideas through proper attribution and citation; understand that intellectual property is a legal and social construct that varies by culture; articulate the purpose and distinguishing characteristics of copyright, fair use, open access, and public domain; understand how the commercial use of their personal inf ...

Discover the Kisan Call Centre: Your Gateway to Agricultural Assistance KISAN CALL CENTRE In order to harness the potential of ICT in Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare launched the scheme “Kisan Call Centres” (KCCs) on January 21, 2004. Main aim of the scheme is to answer farmers’ queries on a telephone call in their own language. These call centres are working in 21 different locations in the country covering all the States and UTs. A countrywide common eleven digit Toll Free Number 1800-180-1551 has been allotted for Kisan Call Centre. This number is accessible through mobile phones and landlines of all telecom networks including private service providers. Replies to the farmers’ queries are given in 22 local languages. Kisan Call Centre services are available from 6.00 AM to 10.00 PM on all seven days of the week at each KCC location. Kisan Call Centre agents known as Farm Tele Advisors (FTAs), who are graduate or above (i.e. PG or Doctorate) in Agriculture or allied sectors (Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Poultry, Bee-Keeping, Sericulture, Aquaculture, Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Marketing, Bio-Technology, Home Science, etc.) and possess excellent communication skills in respective local language. Queries which cannot be answered by FTAs are transferred to higher level experts. These experts are Subject Matter Specialists (SMSs) of State Departments of Agriculture (SDAs), ICAR Institutes, KVKs and State Agricultural Universities (SAUs). A Kisan Knowledge Management System (KKMS) has been developed to capture all the details of the caller and sending gist of answer given through SMS. KKMS has its independent website : http://dackkms.gov.in. The KCC, FTAs working at various KCC locations throughout the country have access to this website through their specific IDs and password provided to them. Welcome to the Kisan Call Centre - your one-stop destination for agricultural assistance and support. The Apostle Paul offers his friends in Corinth a description of God's love that offers hope for reconciliation to a divided group. This most excellent way found in 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 is what our world needs today. view commentary at https://cartoonistbible.com/visuals/1-corinthians-131-8-what-is-love/
