Western Education
He said that it focused on reading and
writing rather than oral language;
valued textbooks than lived experience
and practical knowledge. He argued
that education ought to develop a
person’s mind and soul. Literacy – or
simple learning to write did not count s
education. People had to learn a
craft, work with hands and know how
different things re operated. This would
develop their mind and capacity to
understand.
