The town: Trieste has a long tradition in sailing and welcomes its guests with breathtaking
views on the town, the environment and the sea.

Its airport is far 40 km only from downtown and it is very well served by train and highways
to main cities like Venice, Milan, Ljubliana, Wien.

Trieste serves for many as a departure port for Croatia and cruises along the Adriatic.
Mooring is also offered directly alongside Piazza Unità, the largest square on the sea in
all of Europe.

Trieste, a city of fascination and discovery: The real essence of this city is found on
a cold winter’s day, when there’s a clear and amazingly blue sky that only Trieste’s bora,
when it blows, can bring. Though in fact, Trieste offers captivating moments for the tourist
whatever the season.

Spring, and indeed summer, are perfect for pleasant walks along the city’s jetties and
for glancing back towards the city to admire the Middle-European architecture, while in
autumn the Carso, enhanced by the contrast of the red sumac bushes against the grey
Karst stone and the blue of the sea, is at its most beautiful. With this splendour, on the
second Sunday in October, the Carso provides a setting for the Barcolana, a top-class
regatta that is truly breathtaking: hundreds of coloured sails, last year two thousand,
splashed across the blue canvas of the Gulf of Trieste.
