3.  Tchaikovsky was taught by a
governess and had learned to
speak German and French by
the age of 6
 Tchaikovsky married Anotonina
Miliukova but the marriage only
lasted 9 weeks
 Tchaikovsky was extremely shy
and had low self esteem - this
effected his subsequent
relationships and he often
turned to alcohol

4.  His cause of death is unknown but
one of the theories was he
committed suicide, rather than
face the public after they found
out he was a homosexual.
 When he wasn’t traveling, he lived
alone.
 He felt that his music wasn’t any
good and that the audience would
never enjoy it.
 He was able to quit his job and
compose full time after a wealthy
widow left him money.

5.  Tchaikovky’s mother
died when he was 14,
this was his main
reason for composing
 He held his head with
his left hand while
conducting, in fear of
his head falling off

6.  Tchaikovisky’s favorite
composers were Rossini
Bellini,Verdi and Mozart
 The strongest emotions are
probably in Symphony No. 6
(the ‘Pathetique’).This
symphony was first heard
only nine days before he died

7.  Tchaikovskr wrote three
ballets

 The Sleeping Beauty

 The Nutcracker (18932)
 His ballets altogether
consisted of 2066 tracks

themselves after the accidental proposal
and become lovers in the afterlife
