On the 24th April, 2011 the NEAI team in Nigeria organized children in primary school and junior
students in secondary school to discuss and explore the need for education .About one hundred people
were present. The meeting started about 3:00pm with an opening prayer by a child, Okafor
Uchenna.Afterwhich the programme commenced in full with a lecture on the importance of the child
education which was delivered by the monitoring and evaluation officer, Mr. Victor Adibe,who
encouraged the children to be focused and take the issue of education serious at all times. During the
lecture, the facilitator made it participatory by asking the children to mention the importance of education.
The children stated the importance of education to include: making one to speak well, Know how to
count money and give change, able to read and write,etc.
