2. Benefits from good hand hygiene
More than half of all diseases and deaths among young children
are caused by germs coming into their mouths through water
or dirty hands.
Many of these germs come from human or animal faeces.
Prevent illnesses by good hygiene practice.
Put all faeces in a toilet or a latrine
Wash hands with water and a soap or ash after defecating
or handling childrens faeces. Also before feeding children
or touching food
Keep animal faeces away from the house, paths, wells
and childrens play area
