What does perspective mean?
What does point of view mean? the position from which something
or someone is observed.
What is a birds-eye-view?
Which painting shows this sort of viewpoint?
What viewpoint does the other picture show?
Talk about how the view from below could be from the perspective of an
ant
Discuss how the view from above could be the viewpoint of a bird?
What other perspectives could these pictures be from

Learning Activity #2

Students will:
Draw a snowman from a certain viewpoint
Tell students the steps I took into creating my two snowmen
The following steps will be up on the smart board
1) Choose your viewpoint (view from above or below)
2) Make a plan (show to a teacher)

3) Sketch with pencil
4) Colour with pastel
5) Outline with permanent marker or black pastel
What viewpoint have you chosen?

Walk around the room and have discussions with students as they plan

Make observations to see if the students first sketches do match the
viewpoint they have chosen
