3. Hey there! I'm Joe, and the handsome blonde guy by the mailbox is my husband Aidan. ( Husband . Coooooool . Uh, sorry, newlywed here.) We just graduated from Sim State, got married, and moved into a new house in Phailville: 190 Main Street.
4. Our new place is pretty awesome. Not very big, but really nice, thanks to a grant from the Familyfunds Foundation. It's on the edge of town, and with all the pine trees around it, it almost feels like we're living out in the woods somewhere. That's okay—neither one of us is exactly a social butterfly, and we like it nice and quiet.
5. There's a lot of shrubbery around the house, but other than that and the sidewalk, there's not really any landscaping. The shrubs are enough to take care of; at least the pines don't need any care.
6. Aidan's gone to get an alarm installed in our new Smoogo, so I get to be the one to unlock our new front door for the first time. Sweet!
7. The house has a lot of windows, but the trees give us privacy—and I'm thrilled that there's so much natural light for reading. (Aidan and I are both knowledge sims, so we wanted a place that was good for skilling.) I really want to get enough cooking points that I can make Aidan a nice lunch when he gets back. We ate enough bologna in college to last us for a while.
8. And here's my honeybunny now. Don't call me 'honeybunny' when you're talking to other people, Joe. It's not as cute as you think. The driveway's a bit far from the front door, but it does keep things quieter. And you can just see our balcony there in the background.
9. We don't really have room for a full-sized couch, but a loveseat works fine. You can see that the downstairs is really pretty open-plan. The bathroom's walled off, of course, and the kitchen's partly separated, but the rest is just one big room. The stairs work to separate out the “living room” and the “dining room,” though.
10. The kitchen's really small, but since it's well-organized, it's not a problem at all. The sink is next to the fridge, and there's workspace next to the stove and on the wall next to the fridge (which also holds the trash compactor and dishwasher, not to mention the coffeepot ).
11. Right outside the kitchen is our computer area. I like it that way so that when one of us is cooking, the other one can sit there and check his email and stuff—out of the way, but close enough for conversation. (Newlyweds, remember?) Aidan made that owl at summer camp when he was seven. His mother gave it to us. Aidan hates it, but I think it's adorable.

13. A closer look at the stairs. Yeah, there's already a pile of books on the table on the landing. Knowledge sims, remember? Also a closer look at your ass. Nobody cares about that, Aidan. This is about the house. Well, I do.
15. The dining area is just on the other side of the stairs. You can see the kitchen off to the left. The door on the left leads to the bathroom; the one on the right to the back porch.
16. Speaking of the bathroom, this is it. Small, but functional. I'm not sure I love the decor, but that's what I get for hiring my ex-roommate's fiancee as my interior decorator.
17. Here's me making lunch in the kitchen. See? Small, but perfectly functional.
18. Our first meal in our first home together. Everybody say “Awwww.” I know you want to. There are two extra plates on the table; that's because we had some unexpected guests...
19. The president of the local Homeowners Association, who invited herself for lunch, then wouldn't eat the plate I set for her, and had to go and get a fresh one from the kitchen (also, she was really into me. Even if I was into women, not with that makeup, that purple suit (purple is so not her color) and that Brandi-Broke hair.). Aidan thought that was hilarious. It's a good thing I love him.
20. And also one of the neighbors (she is rocking that gypsy look, seriously), who we liked a lot better than that Brandi wannabe.
25. We're not that big on knick-knacks and doo-dads, but we do have some family photos and one of the canvases from Aidan's senior art show at Sim State.
27. We keep our chess table out there, and Aidan set up his easel. We have a gorgeous view, and he wants to paint some landscapes.
28. There's a matching balcony on the other side, but you can't get to it. I think it's left over from before the first owner turned the second floor into a loft. And I see that our guests are leaving. Thank plumbob.
29. I forgot to show you the stairs before, so here they are, and a better view of one of the two-story windows. They're what sold us on the house.
30. Hey, you've already seen this room. Nothing new to see here. Move it along; we're busy.
31. There you go. Take a look at the patio; I'll be with you in a minute.
32. Yes, I have noticed that I do all the cooking. That's because I've also noticed that I wouldn't give Aidan's cooking to a stray dog to eat.
33. After dinner, we go out to sit on the swing and watch the sun go down. I think we're going to have a lot of happy years in this house (even if we're going to have to build on an addition soon; I heard a lullaby earlier).
