Rizal's Eye Specialization Journey in Europe

clinic of Dr. Louis de Wecker, for four
months and learned the ff:
the actual performance of eye operation;
recent studies on the ailment of the
eyes;
the various techniques of eye operation.

Filipinos in the city.

Felix R. Hidalgo Pardo de Tavera Juan Luna

in Paris.
He became Luna's model in two of his
historical canvasses: The Blood Compact and
Death of Cleopatra.
Before Leaving the city, he completed one-
fourth of this first novel Noli Me Tangere.

He left Paris due to its high cost of living,
which he could not cope with.
He arrived Heidelberg, the university town
of Germany on February 3, 1886.
He resided in a German boarding house.
He decided to transfer to a boarding house
close to the University of Heidelberg.

the university, under the tutelage of Dr. Otto
Becker.
In this University town, he perfected the
techniques of diagnosing eye ailments which he
learned under Dr. Louis de Wecker.
He wrote letters to his sisters, Maria and
Trinidad.
Rizal described the German student as
affectionate, respectful, modest, and not
boastful.
