3. Squeeze the most OUT OF EVERY MORNING These exercises should be performed with light weights—two to five pounds. Work through each one and repeat the circuit two more times with 30 seconds rest between each. Before you start any fitness routine, consult your physician. 1. OPPOSITE SHOULDER LATERAL RAISE AND LEG RAISE: From a standing position, raise your arm laterally at the same time you raise the opposite leg in a bent position. Then do the same with the other arm and leg. That’s one repetition; do a total of 20. 2. PLIE SQUAT: Begin in a squat and as you stand, perform a bicep curl while raising your heels. Return to your starting position. Do 25 repetitions 3. KNEES UP, EYES CLOSED: With the weights held as pictured, close your eyes and raise your thigh until it’s parallel with the floor. Hold for 10 seconds. Switch to the opposite leg. 4. FLOOR EXERCISE (not pictured): Lie on your back and with your legs together, raise your heels one to two feet off the floor. Open your legs while performing a chest press. Return to your starting position. Perform 25 repetitions. We’re all pressed for time. But that’s no reason not to be fit. Because the hardest part of any exercise routine is getting started, fitness expert Michael Gonzalez-Wallace designed this simple workout to get anyone comfortable with the idea of a little morning exercise. All you need are ten minutes, three days a week.
