7. The Fayette County School System is both locally and nationally renowned for its cutting edge academic programs that prepare students for the 21st Century world. With many of its schools receiving the Georgia School of Excellence designation as well as two having been named National Blue Ribbon Schools, it is no wonder that students in the system consistently outperform their counterparts across the state and nation as reflected on standardized test scores and academic competitions. 9. Transportation Fayette County is only 25 miles to Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the world’s busiest with more than 2,000 daily flights across the globe. Over 80% of the continental U.S. population is less than two hours away by air. In addition, Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport handles 900,000 tons of cargo each year. 11. Quality of Life Fayette County is a special community with an inviting environment that continues to flourish & prosper. It has an idyllic lifestyle close enough to the big city of Atlanta and the city’s attractions to be interesting but also just outside enough to make it possible to raise children, know neighbors and participate in schools, government, and community. Health Care Piedmont Fayette Hospital (PFH) is a 106-bed, not-for profit, acute care community hospital that opened in 1997 as the first new metro-Atlanta hospital in 14 years. In 2006, PFH completed an expansion that nearly doubled the size of the hospital to © 2006/Rion Rizzo/Creative Sources Photography, Inc. over 320,000 sq. ft. which includes the first Maternity Center offering obstetric services in Fayette County. PFH offers a full range of health services, including medical and surgical, critical care, cardiopulmonary, outpatient surgery, physical therapy and rehabilitation, laboratory and comprehensive outpatient services. A 24-hour on-campus Emergency Department with an FAA-approved helipad serves the emergency medical needs of the community.

12. Quality of Life cont. Public Safety One of the major elements of “quality of life” is public safety and Fayette County takes a back seat to no one in this category. Fayette County has by far the lowest incident of crimes against people and crimes against property in the metro-Atlanta region. Additionally, the city of Peachtree City traditionally has either the lowest or next to the lowest crime rate of any city in America with populations of 20,000 and greater! you will find a profusion of recreation centers and other facilities that offer soccer, baseball, softball, golf, tennis, gymnastics, health clubs, and swimming opportunities. As well, there are many opportunities for seniors, environmental, civic, business, support groups, veterans, religious, and arts activities.
