5. Usage of twitter
A Twitter List is a great tool for relationship
building that allows you to group together
people you follow, so that you can easily
track what they’re up to.
You can also choose to keep your list
private or public, with the latter option
allowing others to follow your list.
The number one advantage of creating a
Twitter List is convenience.
6. • However, not many people are taking
advantage of this convenience to build up their
public relations efforts. Here are a few ways
that Twitter Lists can help you:
Media monitoring
Market Research
Share The love
Keep An Eye On The Competition
7. Media monitoring
• Create a list of the media you’d
like to cover you, so that you can
easily follow what they’re saying
and quickly jump into the
conversation to answer a question
or help them out.
• You’ll see that media ask for story
ideas or sources to interview for
their stories from their Twitter
community.
8. MARKET RESEARCH
• Create a list of your top blog
commenters or people who fit your
target demographic. Take note of
what interests them, what problems
they currently have and the products
or blogs that they recommend.
• You can then adapt your own
offerings, whether it’s a product or
blog post, to what your audience is
saying they want and need.
9. SHARE THE LOVE
• Feature reporters, clients, and your
niche influencers on a public list
like “Top 20 Innovative Minds” or
“15 Tech Reporters You Need to
Follow” and then, tweet this list to
these people. They’ll appreciate the
recognition and you’ll stand out to
them even more.
10. KEEP AN EYE ON THE
COMPETITION
• Use private lists to monitor your
competition’s conversations and
learn from what they’re talking
about. Again, you may be able to
glean some helpful information
for your business based on what
you learn.
11. ADVANTAGES OF TWITTER
• Twitter is easy to use
• In registration, it will only take you
less than a minute to join, and no
confirmation e-mail needed.
• You can create as many accounts as
you want.
• You can create as many accounts as
you want.
• Once they follow you through your
tweets, you can follow them back and
immediately considered you as a
friend.
12. • Message boards or “tweets” itself can be viewable
in public whether you’re friends or not, and you
may include your URL as well which is clickable
• Twitter also has unique profile templates, which
can be created through HTML mode or purchase it
through legitimate dealers in different auction
sites related to templates
13. DISADVANTAGES OF
TWITTER
• Twitter is truly a social networking or
social media, but there are many
limitations
• Twitter has no applications rather than
other sites like Facebook, Friendster and
MySpace.
• It also has no groups, videos, blogs,
classified ads, forums, marketplace and
other unique and popular social
networking menus
14. You can only upload one picture,
which is your avatar and must be
small, compare to other social
networks which you can upload
pictures as many as you want.
You also cannot upload music files
here on Twitter, but you can upload on
the other social networks.
18. Jack Dorsey (born November 19, 1976) is
an American software
architect and businessmanwidely known as
the creator of Twitter and as the founder
and CEO of Square, a mobile payments
company.[3] In 2008, he was named to
the MIT Technology Review TR35 as one of
the top 35 innovators in the world under
the age of 35.
19. Dorsey grew up in St. Louis, Missouri,[5] and by age
13, he had become interested in dispatch routing.
Some of the open source software he created in the
area of dispatch logistics is still used by many taxi
cab companies.[5] He went to high school
at Bishop DuBourg High Schooland attended
the Missouri University of Science and
Technology before subsequently transferring
to New York University, where he first conceived
the idea for Twitter.[6]
While working on dispatching as a programmer he
later moved to California.[7][8]
20. In Oakland in 2000, Dorsey started his company
to dispatch couriers, taxis, and emergency services
from the Web.[9] His other projects and ideas at
this time included networks of medical devices
and a "frictionless service market".[9] In July
2000, building on dispatching[5] and inspired in
part by LiveJournal and possibly by AOL Instant
Messenger, he had the idea for a Web-based
realtime status/short message communication
service.[9]
21. When he first saw implementations of instant
messaging, Dorsey had wondered if the software's
user status output could be shared among friends
easily.[5] He approached Odeo, who at the time
happened to be interested in text
messaging.[5] Dorsey and Biz Stone decided that SMS
text suited the status message idea, and built a
prototype of Twitter in about two weeks.[5] The idea
attracted many users at Odeo and investment
from Evan Williams[5] who had left Google after
selling them Pyra Labs and Blogger.
22. How to sign up twitter??

24. Congratulations! You are now an
official member of the Twitter
community. You talk, act, think and
breathe like us. Perhaps you find
yourself spending every five
minutes updating Twitter on what
you are doing. But I guess I’ll save
Twitter addiction for next time.
