Different Types of Curtain Wall

Brief Introduction of Curtain Wall

Curtain wall seems to be a strange name for us. Actually, maybe you can see it everyday
when you go to work or any other super malls. It is the exterior of the building envelope with
no load-bearing and it looks like a curtain hang up. It is also known as the double skin curtain
wall. It is a modern large and tall building with the decorative effect of the light wall. The
structural framework and mosaic sheet is formed and it doesn't assume the main structure
load and effect of building envelope structure. It is the use of a variety of strong, lightweight,
beautiful building materials to replace traditional masonry or window wall with exterior wall
construction method. It is surrounded on the main structure of peripheral so that the entire
building can achieve beautiful, versatile and safe wall method. In short, the building is put on
a beautiful dress.

The Origin of Curtain Wall

Maybe you have know many about the curtain wall after you read the last paragraph. But do
you know what is the origin of curtain wall? Curtain wall has already been used as early as
150 years ago in building engineering. At that time, due to the limitations of materials and
processing technology, curtain wall cannot reach the requirements of the absolute water
tightness, air tightness, resistance to various natural forces invasion, thermal physical factors
and sound insulation, fire protection. It has been not very good development and promotion.
Since the nineteen fifties since, due to building materials and processing technology is
developing rapidly, various types of construction materials developed, such as various
sealant invention and other insulation, fireproof filling material appearance, and it is a very
good solution to building on the periphery of the curtain wall of the requirements, and
gradually become the new trend of modern building decoration. Today, the curtain wall is not
only widely used in the outer walls of various buildings, but also applied to various features of
the building interior wall, such as the communications room, television studio, airport, station,
gymnasium, museum, cultural centre, Le Grand Large Hotel, a large shopping mall. For
example the photovoltaic curtain wall. In the future, with the curtain wall technology and
science and technology integration, the corresponding global energy saving call, intelligent
curtain wall, such as solar photovoltaic curtain wall, curtain wall ventilation respiration,
induction and intelligent curtain wall, will demonstrate the unique charm of architecture.

The Development of Curtain Wall

As curtain wall is one of the most important decoration in a building, so many buyers will
choose it and the manufacturers should have great development in the future.
