13. Data Capture Workbook
• Compiling Human Geography datasets from WWHGD community
• Over 900 unclassified/open source datasets
• Some Key Contributors of Data – Mexico, South Sudan,
DoS/HIU, NGA, UN, Univ. of GA, Robert S. Strauss Center,
Columbia, NATO, ESRI, Intermap Federal Services Inc., Institute
for Defense Analysis
• Ensuring integrity of the data links and important fields; theme
area, description, publisher and contact information
• Updating the workbook according to the Common Core Metadata
Fields to ensure discoverability
14. Providing Access to Data
• Pilot leveraging existing www architecture of the GeoPlatform
• Identifying, cataloging, tagging WWHGD Datasets
• WWHGD WG community storefront has been created in the
development environment on geoplatform.gov
• NGA testing data ingest process to get the
catalogued data to analysts on all networks
• GeoPlatform will provide data access to the
WWHGD Community
• Prototype currently contains 5 test datasets
CIESEN, HIU, Robert Strauss Center, FEWS NET, UN
• Currently working with catalogued data owners to tag data so it is available
via the GeoPlatform

WWHGD WG
• Continue building voluntary partnerships around HG data and mapping

Pacific

• 16 July 2014 – Western and Central Africa – Education and Capacity
Building
• 10 September 2014 – Central and South America – Land Use and Tenure
• Continue work to establish the WWHGD WG community on GeoPlatform
• Finalize the pilot and implement the process to get the entire data capture
workbook on GeoPlatform
