PHFI: Mandate
PHFI has a mandate to strengthen the public health capacity in India by :

• Establishing a network of new Indian Institutes of Public Health (IIPHs)

• Assisting the growth of existing public health training
  institutions/departments

• Establishing a strong national research network

• Generating policy recommendations & developing a vigorous advocacy
  platform

• Facilitating creation of an accreditation body for public health education in
  India

Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes
               Management (CCEBDM)
• The course is a joint certificate program between Public
  Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes
  Education Academy (DMDEA), Chennai.

• DMDEA is a unit of Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialties Centre
  (DMDSC); an International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Centre
  of Diabetes Education for the period 2009-2012.

• The program is being coordinated and delivered on a PAN-
  India level by PHFI.

• The program is supported by an educational grant by MSD
  Pharmaceuticals Private Limited.

PHFI advancing the agenda of Universal Health Coverage
                              To develop a comprehensive plan for health in India,
                              the Planning Commission of India under approval by the
                              Prime Minister, constituted the High Level Expert Group
                              (HLEG) on Universal Health Coverage (UHC)

                              Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) appointed as
                              the Technical Secretariat. President PHFI as the Chair

                              Mandate to develop a framework for providing easily
                              accessible and affordable health care to all Indians and
                              suggesting a 10-year strategy going forward. The report
                              was submitted in November, 2011

Certificate Course in Evidence Based Diabetes Management (CCEBDM) • The course is a joint certificate program between Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) and Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Education Academy (DMDEA), Chennai. • DMDEA is a unit of Dr. Mohan's Diabetes Specialties Centre (DMDSC); an International Diabetes Federation (IDF) Centre of Diabetes Education for the period 2009-2012. • The program is being coordinated and delivered on a PAN- India level by PHFI. • The program is supported by an educational grant by MSD Pharmaceuticals Private Limited. | 14

PHFI advancing the agenda of Universal Health Coverage To develop a comprehensive plan for health in India, the Planning Commission of India under approval by the Prime Minister, constituted the High Level Expert Group (HLEG) on Universal Health Coverage (UHC) Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI) appointed as the Technical Secretariat. President PHFI as the Chair Mandate to develop a framework for providing easily accessible and affordable health care to all Indians and suggesting a 10-year strategy going forward.
