Project: Meiosis & Mitosis Storybook (50 points)

GOAL: To create a storybook about Meiosis and Mitosis that explains the process of each method of cellular
reproduction. To develop a creative and fun story that identifies the similarities and differences between the two
methods.
Requirements:
o All parts of the story must be original work.
o Story must be creative and explain the steps of cellular reproduction for both Meiosis and Mitosis.
o ONLY the “story” part of the book may be typed.
o All drawings must be hand drawn. No cut and paste or computer images!
o Drawings must show in a “creative way” how cells undergo the process of Meiosis or Mitosis
o Drawings must be colorful and representative of the actual process
o Drawings must relate to the story you wrote.
o It would be a VERY good idea to include character names, different settings, etc…BE CREATIVE
o All steps of Meiosis and Mitosis must be included in the story. (You may break it up into 2 separate books)
o The overall cell cycle must be part of the story.
o Similarities and Differences between the two methods must be identified in the story.
o The final product must be presented as a BOOK with drawings, CATCHY and CREATIVE cover, a title, title
page and should be colorful, creative and well done throughout.
o You MUST receive 40-50 points based on the rubric to qualify for extra credit
o You MUST print out rubric and include with your book when you turn it in
