Tarraco was an important Roman city that built several notable structures, including an amphitheater, aqueduct, arch, and defensive walls. The amphitheater hosted gladiator fights and was later converted to a church. The quarry and arch were constructed from stone to build other monuments. Today, Tarragona remains on the coast with beaches and avenues overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
