1. Integral Impact Investing Initiative
Global Launch April 27th, 2010
In cooperation with the club of rome, Rockefeller philanthropy
advisors, desertec foundation, the CleanTech circle, and Forum CSR
International, a global group of leading impact investors and
scientists launched on April 27th, 2010 the integral impact investing
initiative.
Integral impact investing is an evolutionary integral model for
sustainable investing, business, and philanthropy. It is an
evolutionary step in impact investing that advances consciousness
leadership by adding culture, behavior and individual consciousness
to the financial, environmental, and social metrics (Figure 1).

Integral Impact Investing honors the truth that today’s
challenges such as the financial, economic, energy, health, water,
and other are in fact a crisis of human consciousness.
As Albert Einstein reminded us “the significant problems we face
cannot be solved by the level of thinking that created them.” This

2. means that we must add new levels of consciousness when we try to
address humanity’s problems.
In analyzing major trends and current efforts to solve them it
becomes obvious that we currently continue to create more problems.
This is so, because every exterior has an interior and as long as we
ask for changed behavior, more ethics, and morals, but do not look
at the root thereof, namely the interior human dimensions, we will
continue to be the source and not the solution of the problem.
Thus, Integral Impact Investing is challenging the current
investing paradigm buy adding the interior metrics to the equation. It
argues that scientific research (Figure 2) performed over several
decades, shows that by including interior metrics into the investment
equation, both the overall impact and the financial bottom line
increase.

In summary, the salon participants agreed to join forces and
start the Integral Impact Investing foundation with the intention to:
A. Develop an Integral Performance Measurement Index by
extending the current impact investing ESG (Environmental
Social and Governance) Criteria to include behavioral as
well as interior dimensions such as cultural and
consciousness indices (such as Ethics, morals, and ego);

3. B. Develop an integral model for sustainable investing,
business, and philanthropy across all asset classes and
all types of capital. Aggregate capital to stimulate the
integral impact sector. Identify new investment strategies
to address the Millennium Development Goals and quality
of life markets. Reinstating real wealth creation
C. Build a movement to share, inspire, convene, create
Partnerships, and to bridge Government, Philanthropy,
and Investing for the benefit of all.
