BIMStorm processes were recognized with another award from Fiatech for their work with the California Community Colleges. The Community Colleges created a Building Information Model of all 71 million square feet of its properties and gained multiple benefits. Many of the processes and software used in the award-winning project are being demonstrated in an upcoming free AIA webinar. This is the second time BIMStorm's work has received a Fiatech CETI Award, having previously won in 2007 for the BIMStorm Rotterdam project.
1. BIMStorm recognized in another Fiatech Award
Greetings from the BIM Education Co-op. We are very happy to learn that ONUMA, Inc. and California
Community Colleges won a Fiatech Award for Celebration of Engineering & Technology Innovation.
Below is an edited release from Fiatech about technology award winning projects including the California
Community College system, which created a Building Information Model for all 71 million square feet of space in
it's portfolio and gained multiple benefits.
Many of the processes and software used in the award winning project are demonstrated in the ongoing
BIMStorm BIG BIM Bang, which is being presented in a free AIA webinar on Friday April 13 at 1 pm Eastern. AIA
Chicago and AIA Columbus are showing webinar at their chapter conference spaces where a BIMStorm
participant will provide in-person demonstrations.
This is the second time BIMStorm processes have been given a CETI Award from Fiatech. In 2007 BIMStorm
Rotterdam was granted a CETI Award.
John Roach (center) Foundation for California Community Colleges technology director was a key driver of the award-winning project. Roach
is shown in the BIMStorm booth at Ecobuild 2011where CCC projects were used to demonstrate web-based business processes.

Onuma & The California Community Colleges' FUSION+CCCGIS+ONUMA:
Pasadena, California-based ONUMA, Inc. brought two separately operating database systems together to create
the world's largest cloud computing Building Information Model (BIM) and Geographic Information System (GIS)
platform. California Community Colleges and the Foundation for California Community Colleges had ONUMA,
Inc. combine Models of 5,000 buildings (71 million square feet) with GIS data in a centralized online platform.
Information can now be visualized as two or three-dimensional building models. Real-time data are accessible
on multiple devices, including iPhones and iPads. Several solution providers of classroom scheduling are
evaluating how to link to the system.
