4. The Story….
Janine Shepherd, as a cross-
country skier and member
of the Australian Ski Team
was headed towards the
Winter Olympics.
5. As a part of her
training regime, she
went Cycling on the
Blue Mountains, West
of Sydney.
6. While Cycling, she
meets a horrible
accident and incur life
threatening injuries. 5
Broken Ribs and a
massive Blood loss.
Blood pressure was 40
over nothing.
7. Although she escaped
death, but she got
confined to a Wheelchair.
She was paralyzed from
the waist down.
“The Body was Broken”
8. Doctors told her that
she’ll have internal
injuries for the rest of
her life and if she ever
manage to walk again
it will be Clippers & a
Walking Frame.
9. However, instead of getting depressed, she thought:
“If I cannot walk, I will FLY”
10. She decided to be to be a
Pilot and started training
rigorously for it.
11. Within an year, she
gained Commercial
Pilot License
and became a
trained Aerobatics
flying instructor.

Aviation Safety
Authority, Australia
• Torchbearer for 2000
Summer Paralympics
at Sydney
• Received ‘Outstanding
Person of the World
Award’ in 1998
