premier marketers and auctioneers of high-value artwork and
other items. In 2004, the prestigious business expanded its scope
when it added a new subsidiary, Sotheby's International Realty.
The company entered a strategic partnership with Realogy, the
leading real estate brokerage franchiser in the world. Sotheby's
began offering membership in its eponymous franchise system to
certain companies, allowing them to license the Sotheby's
International Realty name. Within 10 months, the company had
established more than 100 offices throughout the United States.
In 2006, the company expanded to an international level,
launching branches in Spain, Switzerland, and New Zealand. By
2011, the company had over 600 offices and approximately
12,000 sales associates around the globe. During its short
history, the company has garnered many awards and
recognitions.
