1. 2. How does your media product represent particular social groups? 3. What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
2. Question 2 The social group I have aimed my magazine at is for people roughly between the ages of 16-25, It would appeal more to males because of the simple structure and the darker colours used on it, I chose to aim it at the males because through my research into music magazines I discovered that the males dominate the percentages in who actually read music magazines. This magazine is a Hip-Hop/Rap magazine and I believe it easy to realise from the ‘Bad boy’ image from the front cover something you wouldn’t expect to see from say an indie or rock magazine. However this could have been made more obvious to realise if I could have used my original model who used to attend this school he has West Indian routes and also plays rugby league and he would have portrayed the ‘Badboy’ image much more comfortably. The name ‘AJ’ is also portrayed on my magazine and I believe people can extinguish their knowledge off these sort of names to relate it to a rap star for example Jay-Z, T-Pain, TI and 2 Pac all have single letters or numbers included into their rap names which makes their names easy to remember because their short and snappy. As you can see from these two photos the one on the left I have tried to replicate and the image they have used is much more effective than the one I have used.
