1. Production diary โ week 9
This week I continued with my production tasks. I managed to complete 3 tasks this
week including my props list, actor release forms and my filming and editing
schedule.
Props list
To think of the props that I will want to use for the construction of my video, I looked
at the props I used for the previous tasks that I completed for my AS coursework.
This includes equipment that will be needed such as camera and lighting.
I also looked at other existing indie music videos and looked at what kind of props
they used for their video. Because I discovered that the props used will depend on
what your music video will be like, I had already thought of a narrative that I want to
use for my music video. This narrative involves two young girls who will be portrayed
as best friends looking back at the good moments of their lives. To match this
narrative and to be able to demonstrate it well, I will be using props to help
demonstrate their strong relationship. Using this props list will work as a sort of
checklist that I am able to look at when constructing my video and make sure I have
included all that I need for it to be a successful video.
Actor release forms
I have printed 3 of these templates off from the media resources folder that I had to
fill out myself along with the people participating in my video such as the actors and
the artist. The sheet included information about what they will be doing and their
permission to allow me to take footage of them. I did this by making them sign the
sheet along with their contact details so that I am able to get in contact with them
easily. Because two of my actors are below the age of 18, I had to get their parent or
guardianโs consent instead.
Filming and editing schedule
I also completed timetables demonstrating the plan for when I will be filming and
editing. This will be used as a platform to work from in order to help me stay
organised and up to date with my work. I have included information about when I
am planning to shoot including location, when I will be reserving a date to use the
black box room as I will need to do that in advance due to the room being used every
so often. I have also included information on when I will be editing my digipak and
my magazine advertisement. This schedule will probably change when it comes to
the actual construction stage therefore I will make changes on it along with way.
