This document discusses the future of libraries and the role of technology. It notes that while the core mission of libraries to advance knowledge will remain the same, the ways that librarians accomplish this mission will change. Libraries will increasingly utilize new technologies and their physical collections will move from general stacks to special collections, while the library's role as a place for research and learning will also evolve to keep up with technological changes. Expert staff will continue promoting knowledge sharing through dynamic resources and collections that support communities both within the United States and around the world.
