The reason why I asked my target audience this question is because I wanted to get an idea of how
much my target audience spend on reading magazines in a month so it can help me decide how
often I should publish my magazine. I think I should publish my magazine every week as 40% of my
respondents read up to 3 or 4 magazines in a month, which would also help increase my revenue
costs.
The reason why I asked this question is so it can help me come up with a reasonable and affordable
price for my magazine. The majority of my respondents feel that £0.50p - £1.50 is a reasonable price
for a magazine so I have decided the price of my magazine will be between that, as it will increase
the likelihood of them actually purchasing my magazine, which is why I have decided to price my
magazine at £1.50.

I wanted to ask this question so I can decide whether my magazine should feature a competition or
not. 60% of my respondents said they participate in competitions, which made me come up to a
conclusion to feature a competition or some sort of quiz in my magazine. On my front page I will
include that there is a competition inside the magazine so more people would purchase it as it
creates a sense of excitement.
According to my results, 60% of my respondent s wants magazines to be available on the Internet as
it will be more accessible and it would be free. However, the other 40% do not agree with this and
they say they would rather buy the magazine because a magazine being available on the Internet
doesn’t follow the codes and conventions of a magazine.

According to my results, 55% of my respondents have passion about opera music, which made me
come to a conclusion that in my magazine I will feature some opera musicians so it can appeal to
more of my respondents. It was really important for me to know what type of music my respondents
liked the most so I can feature more information on that type in my magazine so it’s more appealing
to my target audience and then I will have a better chance of them buying the magazine. I will also
feature Chamber and Orchestral music in my magazine so it can appeal to all my target readers, so
all the classical musician lovers can purchase my magazine.
Looking at my results, my respondents feel that the title and images is something, which attracts
them to a magazine, which is why I’m going to pay more attention in achieving that. Both of the
results were equal as they were 30% each, I’m going to make my masthead big and bold with bright
colours such as red so it can stand out and I will make my images inviting. I’m going to use a medium
close up on the front cover of my magazine so I’m following the codes and conventions and the eye
contact of the image will be towards the reader, as then the reader will feel as if they are engaging
with them.

The colours which my respondents associate with the Classical genre are pink and black as the vote
were the same 60%, this has made me decide that on my front cover there will be a medium close
up on someone in a pink dress with maybe black text. However, the red and white have also got the
same votes which made me come to a conclusion that on my contents page I will have an image of
someone in a red dress, with maybe a white background. I’m going to follow the advice of my
respondent’s o it can appeal to them more and then I will have a better chance of them purchasing
my magazine.
I wanted to ask this question to my respondents, as I wanted to know whether they think the
content or the images are important of a magazine. According to my results 50% of my respondents
feel that both the content and images are equally important, so I decided that I’m going to pay equal
attention on the content and the images of my magazine.

This question seems a bit odd but the reason why I asked this question is because I wanted to know
how many of my respondents are up to date with the social networking sites. By looking at my
results, 45% of my respondents use YouTube and 25% of them use Facebook, because I know some
of my respondents use these sites, I’m going to advertise my magazine on these sites so my
magazine can become popular and more people will purchase it.
I asked an open question to my respondents, as I wanted their opinion on what they didn’t like
about the classical magazines they have read previously. According to my results, my respondents
have equally voted that the most things that they dislike about a classical magazine they have read
previously is that there are less images, too much text which makes it look boring and not many
bright colours are used. When I make my magazine I am going to be more aware about these things
because I want it to appeal to my target readers so I’m going to follow the feedback I have gotten
from them.
