2. Jacqueline Wilson She was born in Bath on 17th December 1945 and spend her childhood in Kingston-on-Thames where she still lives today.
3. Childhood As a child, she always wanted to be a writer and wrote her first `novel´ when she was nine, filling countless exercise books as she grew up.
4. Books Her books include The Story of Tracey Beaker (1991) and its sequel, The Dare Game (2000); The Bed and Breakfast Star (1994);The Illustrated Mum (1999), Bad Girls (1996); Double Act (1995). Her latest books The Worry Website (2002); Lola Rose (2003); The Diamond Girls (2004); Clean Break (2005); My Secret Diary and Hetty Feather (2009).
5. MY FAVOURITE I like all her books because they are very realistic. I have read 23 of her books, some of them include: Midnight, The Suit Case Kid, Staring Tracey Beaker, Candy Floss, Cookie, Sleep Overs, The Lottie Project, Best Friends, Secrets, My Sister Jodie, The Diamond Girls, etc.
6. AWARDS Jacqueline Wilson has won many awards, including the Smarties Prize, and the Guardian Children's Fiction Award. The Illustrated Mum won the Guardian Children's Award and the 1999 Children's Book of the Year at the British Book Awards. It was also shortlisted for the 1999 Whitbread Children's Book Award. The Story of Tracey Beaker won the 2002 Blue Peter People's Award.
7. HONOURS In June 2002, Jacqueline Wilson was given an OBE for services to literacy in schools, and from 2005 to 2007 she was the fourth Children's Laureate. In the New Year Honours 2008 she was made a Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE).
