3. What we do?
We employ our experience in multiple
fields to create added value experiences
using service design for private and
Government projects.
That means:
•
We develop tailor – made creative services and strategies
that link projects or organizations to their respective
audiences, customers and/or communities.
•
We do this in order to reach productive and trusted
interactions between all actors.

6. Santurce is a valuable community in San Juan
that, from our point of view, has a fragmented
“daily rhythm”.
Population DENSITY
This characteristic is represented by the diversity of communities that live around it and by the
numerous urban activities that happen in the area.

9. Average income
Our project aspires to benefit both, the
neighborhood (communities around
Santurce) and CIUDADELA (the
residents as well as the investors).
Income below poverty line
Santurce, Ciudadela: IT'S ALL ABOUT RHYTHM
We genuinely believe that all these activities
need to be integrated in order to achieve a
more sustainable socioeconomic rebirth of
Santurce.
10. community engagement project.
And we also think that CIUDADELA can become the epicentrum of this rebirth.
Santurce, Ciudadela: IT'S ALL ABOUT RHYTHM
This proposal presents the park project that Putman Bridge is developing as a base and
starting point to build up a whole urban concept, where CIUDADELA will generate a real
11. That is why we would like to research the
very real picture of Santurce in a way that will
lead us to integrate different stakeholders,
aspects and actions under one community
engagement strategy.
•
The main goal is to make CIUDADELA the
heart of Santurce, not just as a static center
plaza but rather a “living culture” point of
reference.

Democratising culture and
designing the park
The "Etablissement public du parc et
de la Grande halle de la Villette"
brings the concept of an urban culture
park to life. With an increasingly
strong commitment to help make
culture accessible to all,
the
management company's actions are
founded on the principles of openness
and experimentation: no barriers, nor
borders, nor closure at sunset,
modularity of the programmable
spaces, a multidisciplinary cultural
offering, a wide range of artistic
practices, programmes aimed at and
catering for a wide variety of different
audiences.

13. LA VILLETTE – PARIS
Embracing others and their
differences
One of the EPPGHV's essential
vocations is to promote new forms of
artistic expression, particularly those
with roots in urban and emerging
cultures (hip hop, slam, social theatre,
electro, digital art...), and to help them
flourish at a local, national and
international level.

17. PHASE 1: Research and Mapping
•
Goal: To portray the very real picture of Santurce in a way that will lead us
to integrate different stakeholders, aspects and actions such as social
participation, cultural activation, design, urban design, Internet, social
networking, among others, under one community engagement strategy.
PHASE 2: Service Design and Sharing
•
•
Goal: To conceptualize the community engagement project and the
necessary added value experiences, including the cultural activation
program for Parque San Mateo, based on the findings of our research.
Project Management and Evaluation
Goal: To implement, coordinate, supervise and evaluate all of the above.
Assure the continuity of all programs after the park is built.

Phases of our Proposal

●
The community engagement project can include, for example, the physical
design and the cultural activation program of Parque San Mateo, and a
creative marketplace in CIUDADELA.
Concept: Parque San Mateo was made by the Community and for the
Community of Santurce. We, the Community, are welcomed to
CIUDADELA.

CIUDADELA...the “living culture center” of Santurce
19. Only few projects in
Puerto Rico have been
develop based on
consensus and trust.
Through the
community
engagement project,
CIUDADELA and
Parque San Mateo can
become landmarks of
these kinds of efforts.

This will be
HISTORIC!!
