2. INTRODUCTION
THROUGH THE WALL HUMAN DETECTION IS OF INTEREST IN
MILITARY,DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND RESCUE OPERATIONS.
THE PROJECT AIMS TO CONDUCT AN EXPERIMENTAL STUDY ON THROUGH THE
WALL HUMAN DETECTION USING USRP AS A TOOL.

4. PROGRESS OF THE PROJECT
USRP – THE UNIVERSAL SOFTWARE DEFINED RADIO PERIPHERAL, WAS TAKEN AS THE TOOL TO
TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE SIGNALS.
USRP 2932 IS USED , WHICH CAN TRANSMIT AND RECEIVE SIGNALS OF THE RANGE 400 MHz
TO 4.4GHz
LAB VIEW IS THE INTERFACING SOFTWARE SINCE IT WAS COMPATABLE WITH USRP

FOR FURTHER SIGNAL PROCESSING MATLAB IS USED
WE HAVE SELECTED TO TRANSMIT A PULSE OF 1GHZ FREQUENCY
THE TRANSMITTER AND RECIEVER PART OF THE USRP WAS DESIGNED AND
IMPLEMENTED USING LABVIEW.

IN THE FIRST PHASE OF THE PROJECT,
IMPLEMENTED THE TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION OF THE SINE WAVE OF
1GHz.
THE REFLECTED SIGNAL FROM A HUMAN TARGET WAS ALSO OBTAINED.
DATA SETS FOR THE HUMAN DETECTION WITHOUT OBSTACLE WAS TAKEN
AND THE MAGNITUDE RESPONSE OF THE RECEIVED SIGNAL WHICH INDICATES
THE PERIODICITY OF HEART BEAT WAS PLOTTED.

9. FUTURE WORKS
CLEAR ESTIMATE AND DATA SETS FOR THE PRESENCE AND ABSENCE OF
HUMAN BEING THROUGH THE WALL WILL BE PLOTTED.
TO DEVELOP PLOTS WHICH CAN CLEARLY INDICATE HUMANS AND WHICH
CAN BE FURTHER SUBJECTED TO FUTURE WORKS TO DEVELOP A SYSTEM TO
DETECT HUMAN TARGETS FROM UNDER THE BUILDING RUBBLES.
