It is one of the largest and most respected

6. History
L&T was founded in Bombay (Mumbai) in 1938 by
two Danish engineers, Henning Holck-Larsen and
Soren Kristian Toubro.
Both of them were strongly committed to developing
India's engineering capabilities to meet the demands of

12. Selection process
Recently, they have started a 'pool campus process' where
they invite all AICTE approved colleges in major locations
across the country.
The present selection process consists of :
 Written tests that measure intelligence
and engineering aptitude.
 Technical interview.

13. Training for the recruits
The 35-day orientation programme.
The objective of this programme is to successfully onboard the campus recruits in L&T
It also helps him/her in getting acclimatized to the work
ethos and start delivering from day one.
The trainees have to work on technical projects, individual
assignments, product simulations, and have to undergo
various technical as well non-technical exercises on-line.

The new monorail in Mumbai.
A TBM tunnel built by L&T for the Delhi Metro.
L&T constructed Asia’s largest underground metro
station at Rajiv Chowk, New Delhi.
An Indian Railway cast wheel manufacturing plant
in Bihar are among L&T's recent projects.
Track-doubling work carried out by L&T in
Mumbai.
