Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Perfumes to make you feel like a Sheikh
1. PERFUMES TO MAKE YOU
FEEL LIKE A SHEIKH
With Abdulmalik Adbul Mohsen
2. Sometimes you want to feel like a king, but
sometimes you want to feel like a sheikh! Take it from
Abdulmalik Abdul Mohsen, there’s a certain kind of
suave that comes from thinking like this, and you can
replicate that feeling with a great splash of spicy and
intriguing perfume. Here are my picks for the
perfumes that will give you that eastern promise and
take you back to hazy days in warm climates.
3. RASASI AND CHRISTIAN DIOR
• Tobacco Blaze by Rasasi was launched back in 2013. While
there are some very floral top-notes, the main one that
comes through for me is saffron. It comes in a delightful
wooden box, which is opulent and masculine. Top
Abdulmalik Abdul Mohsen tip: Let it lie for half an hour
before deciding what you think.
• Christian Dior Au Sauvage perfume is somehow both
citrusy and aromatic. The Eau de Parfum is a stronger
concentration, which I’d recommend. It has that classy air
of the sheikh but because it’s only composed of three
notes, it’s still pared back and simple.
4. CREED AND AMOUAGE
• Aventus by Creed is inspired by Napoleon, but I certainly get
more of a middle-eastern vibe from it. The interesting thing
about this one, is that each year the batch slightly changes,
which gives it a bespoke edge. It may be a little pricey, but
what else for a true sheikh?
• As if you hadn’t noticed, Abdulmalik Abdul Mohsen is quite
the Amouage fan, and Jubilation is no different. Herby with
tarragon and coriander and sweet with honey and blackberry,
there is some real juxtaposition within the fragrance. Perfect
to create that air of mystery. Many reviewers have called it
regal and supernatural – exactly what you want in a great
perfume!
