“How to be a good college student”
Introduction: The typical college campus is a friendly place; but it is also a competitive environment. The education you receive there, and the attitudes you develop, will guide you for the rest of your life. Your grades will be especially important in landing your first job, or when applying to graduate school. To be a successful student requires certain skills; but, these are skills that can be learned.
Our responsibilities as a student are: * Doing well in school should be your top priority. * Attend classes regularly and punctually and don’t be late. * Be prepared class * Participate activities and pay attention to the teachers. * complete all assignments on time * fulfill assignment requirements fairly and honestly * observe all regulations of the High College of Technology * its not allowed to eat in classes * turn off the phones
Planning a Better Study Schedule: 1. Plan a schedule of balanced activities. 2. Plan enough time for studying to do justice to each subject. 3. Study at a regular time, in a regular place and after your classroom meeting. 4. Limit your blocks of study time to no more than 2 hours on any one course at a time. 5. Keep carefully organized notes on both lectures and assignments. 6. Practice self recitation as a device for increasing memory. 7. Provide for spaced review. 8. Trade time — don't steal it.
Study Habits of Successful Students: 1-Try not to do too much studying at one time. 2-Plan specific times for studying. 3-Try to study at the same times each day. 4-Set specific goals for your study times. 5-Start studying when planned. 6-Work on the assignment you find most difficult first. 7-Tell your friends not to call you during their study times. 8-Call another student when you have difficulty with an assignment. 9-Review your notes before beginning an assignment. 10-Review your schoolwork over the weekend.
From this presentation, I hope it will help us all to be a better student, improve our study habits , pass all courses and eventually finish college and have a brighter future….
