2. Throughout this process we used a range of different technologies.
Firstly, the main piece of technology used by every group was the
video camera. We could used the schools but i decided that my own
camera would be better as we didn’t have to worry about
borrowing one. It benefited to us as i was familiar with how to use
it and it was also HD which gave us a really good picture.
We also used our own tripod as we could use it whenever we needed
it. Since making our preliminary, i have got a lot more confident
with using tripods and how to do good stable shots.
Before filming our final piece we decided to take some test footage.
We just used one of the schools handy cams to gather the footage.
3. After filming, it was all about editing. To edit we used the Apple Macs
at school. There were 6 of the white Macs and only 2 black ones
which were the newer ones. This did cause a few problems towards
our deadline as we were all wanting to get on the black Macs as
they were a lot more advanced and easier to use. They also
provided better transitions and ways to edit which was useful. We
used the software iMovie, which was the editing software on the
Macs. I found towards the end of the editing process that i was a
lot more confident on the Macs and could use different techniques
to make our clip the best it could be.
4. Once the editing was all done we had to look for some music. I used
my dell netbook whilst Grace was just going over our clip making
sure it was ok. I was familiar with how my netbook worked but i
had learnt how to convert files and successfully upload them onto
the Macs and then onto imovie.
Also, i used my netbook to create our production splash. We used the
software GIMP which we had never used before. We quickly got our
heads round it and managed to create a successful splash.
5. The final piece of technology used was my HTC wildfire. This was
useful in the planning to take still photographs on set and before
filming. This was easy enough to use as i was familiar with it. It
also meant i could quite easily upload photos successfully onto my
blog.
