Mission Statement

• To extend & improve the quality of life for the patient with cancer, to
  extend & improve the lives of populations with cancer or at risk for
  cancer, & to contribute to society via cancer research.

• To perform research of the cause, prevention, treatment, & cure of
  cancer & associated conditions.

• To serve as a focal point for discovery, development & delivery of
  novel concepts in cancer detection, prevention & treatment to
  patients & to society.

  Research Activity: 291 Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center
  members receive over $458M in Research Funding.

  Clinical Care:
  Each year, more than 42,000 patients with cancer seek treatment
  at Duke.

  Duke physicians see more than 7,164 new cancer patients annually
  at Duke University Hospital, Duke Raleigh Hospital, & Durham
  Regional Hospital.

Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center is a partner to hospitals and private
practices throughout North Carolina and the Southeast in order to provide
patients with the highest quality of cancer care.

More than 13,000 cancer patients have access to services offered by the
Duke Oncology Network, a collaborative effort by the Duke University
Health System and the Duke Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Duke Breaks Ground on New Cancer Center




Duke Medicine has embarked on the construction of the new Duke Medicine
Cancer Center, which will be dedicated solely to the care of patients with cancer.
Cancer Center will serve growing number of patients

                                       Center is scheduled to open in
                                       2012 to serve the increasing
                                       number of patients seeking
                                       treatment for cancer at Duke.
Duke planned this new facility to bring all of the people and
the expanded services into one convenient and welcoming
location.
