3. 1. TAJ MAHAL
The Taj mahal is situated southern bank of the
Yamuna river, on the outskirts of Agra, Uttar Pradesh,
one of the seven wonders of the world. The Mughal
emperor Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in memory of
his wife, Mumtaz Mahal (d. 1631), from which the
name Taj Mahal is derived
