INT.LOCAL PUB.DAY
Camera pans across an empty, crappy bar, and stopping on a
miserable, middle aged man (around 60) who is quite clearly
an alcoholic; he is a retired gangster. He has whiskey to
his left, half full, and a burnt out cigar to his right. He
is staring into nothing, wasting his life away.
There is a lot of silence, with awkward sounds of the wind
outside, taps, and a clock ticking- it’s clearly not the
ideal time for a normal drink.
Another man appears through the door (younger than the
retired gangster, around 40s/50s years old), and sits next
to the retired gangster. He gets a glass of water, and then
glances to his left, where the retired gangster is sitting,
and still staring at nothing.
WILLIAM
Hi. I’m Will, you are?
Will offers his hand to the gangster, to shake his hand. The
retired gangster looks down at his hand, pauses, sighs, and
then returns to his original emotionless position.
GEORGE
What do you want, get it over with.
WILLIAM
Oh nothing, I’ve got Monday blues
too.
William chuckles to himself. George still shows no emotion.
The two sit there in silence for an awkward ten or so
seconds. The camera moves around them, showing close ups of
their eyes, and also showing that the bar is empty aside
from them two.
William takes a breath as if to talk again but hesitates. He
goes for a second attempt.

WILLIAM
Hey, don’t I recognize you from
somewhere?
GEORGE
There’s a lot of old gits like me,
you’re probably mistaken.
George has not moved since he first encountered William. A
close up of his eyes is shown. He subtly looks to his left,
without moving his head; he is clearly curious.
WILLIAM
No, I definitely recognize that
scar somewhere but I can’t quite
make it out...
Close up of George’s scar which is close to his eye. He
rolls his eyes and takes a deep breath as if he is very
irritated.
Flash backs of aggressive violence and screaming its shown
for a split second.
George looks down, as if the flash backs has made him
agitated.
GEORGE
Well we’ve all had our ups and
downs, now if you excuse-
George is interrupted by William before he can escape him.
WILLIAM
George Crow! You’re the infamous
George Crow arent you. Oh wow I
always thought you’d be more, well-
During William’s revelation, George sighs and starts to show
signs of emotion; he is fed up and interrupts William.
GEORGE
A lot’s changed since then.
George downs his whiskey. Flashbacks of more violence and
crime.
WILLIAM
Wow, I bet you’re living the high
life with all that money you got
from-

GEORGE
From what?
WILLIAM
Well, you know, all that gangster
shit!
William is clearly excited, he can’t stop grinning.
GEORGE
Gangster shit? Christ are you a
faggot or something? (laughs to
himself) ’Gangster shit’
WILLIAM remains positive, yet recognises GEORGE mocking him.
He then tries a different approach, he tries to be ’cool’
WILLIAM
I was only a kid but since I was
eight I always wanted to be like
you
GEORGE gets out of his seat out of discomfort, as if he is
putting his guard up.
GEORGE
(sarcastically) Well I thank all my
fans for how I am today, is that
all? Do you want a fucking
autograph or something? Would you
like me to sing you a song and
write you a fucking letter of
appreciation? Would that be nice,
yeah?
WILLIAM is silent. For a brief moment there is an awkward
atmosphere hovering around. The audience sees shots of the
empty pub to emphasize the isolation of the two characters.
WILLIAM
Nah.. sorry if you thought I
was being too weird, I was just
interested, your life now must be
great living it large from all your
success in the sixties ay.
GEORGE
Right. I can’t stand you kid you
are one annoying little shit, you
know that? No wonder you’re here
alone because no one can fucking
deal with your much unwanted
company for too long.

WILLIAM is disheartened, as if his dreams have been ripped
to pieces.
GEORGE collects his burnt out cigar. And walks away from
WILLIAM with no eye contact involved. It is very awkward an
silent.
The audience sees GEORGE walking out, with WILLIAM standing
in the background looking on at him, in an unfocused
perspective.
The camera goes back to WILLIAM who looks very confused.
WILLIAM
Bloody psycho. (To waitress) He was
a strange one werent he?
WAITRESS
(laughs) He’s a miserable prick,
he’s in here everyday at this time.
What can I get you?
EXT.OUTSIDE EXPENSIVE HOUSE.DAY
GEORGE walks towards his door, audience sees elements of the
house that gives away his extensive amount of money/ownings
on the house. No emotion is shown from GEORGE, he opens the
door to his house and walks in miserably.
INT.HOUSE LOBBY/CORRIDOR.DAY
Energetic music, the audience assume that GEORGE is going to
do something unconventional and ’gangster’
GEORGE walks through corridor, drops his keys, walks past
all his ornaments and expensive stuff, which is made very
clear to the audience. GEORGE turns on his stereo. Energetic
music stops suddenly. Jazzy, Frank Sinatra style music turns
on, very calming.
EXT.GARDEN DECKING.DAY
GEORGE ends up outside on his deck. The audience sees his
huge forest-like garden, further showing his wealth. He
lights his burnt out cigar and tilts his head back.
GEORGE V/O
Yeah, the sixties were the years
which I was on top.
Scenes of aggressive, violent behavior in flashbacks.

GEORGE V/O (CONT...)
I made a shit load of money. I made
the rules. I made people do what I
wanted to be done. I mean look at
all my fucking stuff. My house is
bloody huge. I have three cars, one
of them is Jaguar E type. If I
wanted to I could go to Mallorca
for a whole year. But I dont
because I’m a very busy man.
Silence. His house is empty. The audience can see that he
has nothing to do, he is bored, miserable and lonely.
GEORGE V/O (CONT...)
I have a lot of... business to deal
with.
GEORGE sits down on a chair, with a TRIM phone (old
fashioned) next to him. You see him look to the phone
awaiting a call. It doesn’t ever ring.
The audience sees wide shots of the empty, life less house.
They then see a close up of GEORGE’s face, he is
miserable.
INT.LIVING ROOM.EVENING
GEORGE is sitting in his white living room on a white
leather sofa. The news is on in the background, the audience
can here a story of a billionaire doing something for
charity, a very successful man. GEORGE is playing with his
pistol, spinning it around, he is obviously bored.
The audience sees the TV news report on the screen. The
billionaire turns out to be WILLIAM, the so called ’annoying
little shit’ that GEORGE disliked.
GEORGE’s face is angry, he seems full of envy and cannot
believe that WILLIAM is so successful.
More flashbacks of his successful life in the past is shown.
GEORGE is starting to get really pissed off and aims the
camera at the TV. He makes a pretend shooting gesture, while
making the sound affect as if to kill WILLIAM.
GEORGE
That fucking prick.
GEORGE is agitated, grabs his gun and jacket and storms out
of the living room.
7. 6.
INT.CORRIDOR.EVENING
GEORGE is aggressively walking through the corridor, grabs
his car keys and violently opens the front door.
The audience retreats from the door, which is left wide
open. The sounds of cars screeching are heard as if he is
about to go and cause chaos somewhere.
