Viewing Participants and Adding Students

                                      After logging in Moodle, click on a course. In this case, we click on Demo Course.

                     To view the participants of this course, click on the Participants in the People block top left of the screen.

                                 If you want to add students to your course, click the Edit icon beside All participants.

                Or you may go to the course’s front page, then click on Assign roles in the Administration block on the left.

                                               Then click on the Student link.

                                               Input the information of the student to be added to this course into the
                                                    search field, e.g., name, HKIEd email username or address, etc.

                                               Then click on the Search button.

                                               The search results will be shown in the box on the right.

                                                          Click to select the student to be added.
                              You can select multiple students by pressing the Ctrl key while clicking on the students’ names.

                                               Then click on the Add button.

                                              The selected student will then be listed in the box on the left.
                            This means that the student has been successfully added to the course and assigned a student role.

                   On the other hand, if you want to remove a student from your course, select the targeted student from the list.

                                               Then click on the Remove button.

                                                         The student is now removed from the course.
                                         Note that you can only remove students who are manually added to the course.

Viewing partcipants and adding students

  • 1. Viewing Participants and Adding Students
  • 2. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students After logging in Moodle, click on a course. In this case, we click on Demo Course.
  • 3. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students To view the participants of this course, click on the Participants in the People block top left of the screen.
  • 4. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students If you want to add students to your course, click the Edit icon beside All participants.
  • 5. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Or you may go to the course’s front page, then click on Assign roles in the Administration block on the left.
  • 6. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Then click on the Student link.
  • 7. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Input the information of the student to be added to this course into the search field, e.g., name, HKIEd email username or address, etc.
  • 8. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Then click on the Search button.
  • 9. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students The search results will be shown in the box on the right.
  • 10. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Click to select the student to be added. You can select multiple students by pressing the Ctrl key while clicking on the students’ names.
  • 11. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Then click on the Add button.
  • 12. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students The selected student will then be listed in the box on the left. This means that the student has been successfully added to the course and assigned a student role.
  • 13. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students On the other hand, if you want to remove a student from your course, select the targeted student from the list.
  • 14. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students Then click on the Remove button.
  • 15. Centre for Learning, Teaching and Technology Moodle Series: Viewing Participants and Adding Students The student is now removed from the course. Note that you can only remove students who are manually added to the course.
