1. Second Quarter 2014 CyFair ALL Bus Trips
1.April 24 (Thursday) – Cuero, Texas (the Wildflower Capital of Texas)
Spring is here! Join us as we travel to Cuero,Texas. In the morning we take a wildflower tour in
the area (we hope " Mother Nature" will be showing her splendor.) At 1PM we will have lunch at
the Bahnhof Café, which was featured in Texas Monthly as one of the 40 best small town cafes
in Texas to eat. In the afternoon we will visit the Dewitt County Historical Museum; get back
on the bus to take a driving tour to view some historical homes and churches.
Trip cost: $5 to be paid at registration; lunch is additional.
Note: This will be a 12 hour long bus trip. Sign in will be at 6:30 AM. The bus will depart at 7AM
and return by 7PM.
2. May 15, (Thursday) – San Marcos
Join us as we travel to San Marcos, in central Texas, and enjoy a relaxing morning in the
historic town center, shopping, dining and sightseeing. (The LBJ Museum of San Marcos is
located on the west side of the courthouse square. The museum has free admission and focuses
on the President’s formative years and how his early experiences as a college student and
schoolteacher influenced San Marcos and the nation.) In the afternoon we will have a guided
glass bottom boat ride at the Meadows Center (formerly Aquarena Springs).
Trip cost: $9 for boat ride; food and shopping are extra. LBJ Museum is free.
NOTE: This will be a 12 hour long bus trip. Sign in will be at 7AM, the bus will
depart at 7:20AM and return by 7:20 PM.
3. June 3 (Tuesday) - Horses and Beer
This is a local trip and the perfect outing for those not wanting a long day. In the morning we
visit the Houston Mounted Police facility. There we will see a short film, view a mounted
demonstration and feed the horses. (Please bring whole carrots, apples and peppermints to feed
them).We will have a late lunch at Italiano’s in Humble. After lunch we will visit St. Arnold’s
Brewery for a tour and tasting.
Trip cost: $8 for brewery tour, souvenir glass and tasting; lunch is additional.
