2. Purpose In order to identify and appeal to my target market I conducted research into what appeals to them. To do this I created a short questionnaire of 7 questions and posed them to a variety of ages within an age range I was hoping to appeal to.

5. Clearly, the majority of people I asked were willing to pay between £2.00 and £3.00. When are asked for a specific price, most said £2.40. This seems like a reasonable price for a magazine published weekly. How much would you be willing to pay for a music magazine?
8. Which front cover do you prefer? “B because the colour makes it stand out” ~Male 17“A, I like the composition of the band in the photograph and the writing is in a bold colour” ~Female 17“C. Habit- it’s the one I’ve always bought” ~Female 30 Although this judgement is based on a recognition of the magazine used and brand loyalty it is interesting to analyse. Clearly this person has become familiar with this magazine and would prefer to buy it so it must stick to it’s own conventions to remain to it’s readers tastes. This also makes it clear that music magazines must be distinct from one another and target a specific audience.
