2. BLOOD
• Blood is a very important liquid.
• It carries oxygen and the substances from
digestion to different parts of our body.
• The journey of the blood around our body
is called circulation.
3. • The circulatory system is responsible for
blood circulation.
• It is made up f the heart and the blood
vesseles.
4. THE HEART
• The heart is an organ.
• It pumps the blood around our body.
• Our heart is between the two lungs.
5. BLOOD VESSELS
• Blood circulates inside blood vessels.
• Three types of blood vessels: arteries,
veins and capillaries.
– ARTERIES: carry blood with oxygen.
– VEINS: collect blood with carbon dioxide.
– CAPILLARIES: connect veins and arteries .
6. BREATHING
-The respiratory system is made up of the
following organs: nostril, trachea, two
bronchial tubes and two lungs.
- Our ribs protect our lungs.
7. • Air enters our body through the nose and
mouth.
• It passes through the nostrils.
• It goes down through the trachea and the
bronchial tubes, and into the lungs.
8. • Oxygen from the air passes through the
walls of our lungs into our blood.
9. - We make two movements: inhalation and
exhalation.
- When we inhale, our lungs fill with air.
- When we exhale, air leaves our lungs.
