- Good morning Tell the story - where someone comes into your office, it is someone you have been trying to build a relationship with and it never seems to go anywhere and one day they come into your office asking for help, they are excited because they saw this thing someone is doing at a conference and they want it too. You’re ecstatic, and to be honest, their department needs all the help it can get. After 10 minutes of listening to their idea, they are explaining something that will require development and many hours because this custom solution to track interactions, gather information, communication with the students/faculty that will make life easier is not as easy to build as this person thought…. And the deadline of 2 weeks from now when orientations begin is not feasible as well… Have you been there? I have, however, now I’m excited because many of these needs we can build for them, we can turn them around quickly and it doesn’t take months or years to develop. Relationships are solidified not broken down and it has allowed a small IT shop to move, change, and develop tools for our community.
- About USC Upstate to get a baseline We are Between Atlanta and Charlotte We have about 5500 students and 1000 faculty/staff/adjuncts ITS Consists of 22 full time employees and a handful of student workers and a couple part time folks We are part of the University of South Carolina system schools (2nd largest to the main campus) 4 year degree granting institution
