3. SCHOOL HISTORY
We learn in Saldus elementary school.
Saldus Elementary School began work in
1904 on 4 August.
Over the years, it often changed names.
20th Century 70ies, the school built a new
housing, with gym, canteen and classes.
Our school’s first director was Pēteris
Dievkociņš and the current director is Dace
Balandīna.
Saldus elementary school also has an anthem
and a flag.
Last school year, the school developed a
belonging sign – brooch.
6. EVENTS
September 1 is the Knowledge Day. Then we
again start to go to school.
Every year our school takes event: Song for my
school. This event performs each class and
compete for a prize. This is a very nice event!

9. SPORT
In 2013./2014. year we got 8 cups
1st place in mini basketball girls 3-5 class (republic - 3rd
place)
1st place in winter athletics 8-9 class
3rd place in basketball girls 8-9 grade
3rd place in basketball boys 6-7 class
3rd place in basketball girls 6-7 class
3rd place in athletics boys 6-7 class
3rd place in the autumn cross boys 8-9 class
2nd place in athletics relay 4 * 200m boys 8-9 class
3rd place in athletics relay 4 * 200m girls 8-9 class
In the individual competition the best school athletes: Kristaps
Druva (9b), Lauris Frolovs (9b), Mikus Strods (9a), Alice
Kristala (8b), Karina Klara Mikelsone (8b), Eliza Jansone
(9a), Violeta Plita (8b), Karlis Zunda (9a).
10. RESEARCH WORKS
In 2013./2014. Saldus elementary school district represented 7
students:
Evita Licite "Nails and nail polish"
Samanta Veza "Dry soup and their impact on health"
Renate Skujeniece and Inga Zelve "Saldus past and
present"
Edgars Markuns "Hockey inventory, the costs"
Karina Klara Mikelsone "Skujskubru and Mikelsons
families and destinies"
Eliza Saule "My grandma B. Darznieces school from
1951-1963 year ".
All students received nominations.
