4. What is SlideShare?
SlideShare is the world's largest
community for sharing presentations. It is
amongst the most visited 200 websites in
the world. Besides presentations,
SlideShare also supports documents,
PDFs, videos and webinars.
5. How would I use SlideShare?
As a future educator, I plan to use
SlideShare to provide my students with
information that we are reading about in
class that is not in the books.
As I have learned from some of my
teachers here at CSUSM, I will be able to
present to my students facts about the
time period of the literature we are talking
about and / or about the author. This will
be best viewed in a SlideShare because the
students will be able to have a link for it and
access it at their leisure.
8. What is Google Calendar?
Google Calendar can help assist teachers and
students know when items are due and
teachers can share what they want to
share with the students for them to see
what is coming up. Everything will be posted
on the date that is due and this will help
everyone have all the information needed to
succeed in the classroom!
9. How would I use Google Calendar?
As a future educator, I plan to use Google
Calendar to share with my students and
their parents when assignments are due and
what is supposed to be done when.
I think this will benefit everyone in class and
at home because it will be like providing my
students with a digital syllabus that can be
edited at any time that it is needed and the
students - and parents! - can just go on
there to see what they need to work on
and the dates that it is due.
11. What is i>clicker?
Download the free software, create your
course, pass out the clickers, and begin
polling. i>clicker does not require any sort of
log-in procedure and every question asked is
automatically captured and saved for review.
You can register student remotes before
class, in class, after class, or never at all!
12. How would I use i>clicker?
As a future educator, I plan to use i>clicker
to keep attendance of my students and to
have them answer pop quizzes.
This little remote will assist my students in
counting themselves present in class and
also answering the questions of a quiz with
the push of a button, which I think is less
time consuming than having to do it without
the remote provided with i>clicker.
Sadly, this resource isn’t free, so I hope
that the school I teach at has the funds to
provide it for me and my students.
14. What is SMART Board?
SMART Board is an interactive
whiteboard which helps improve learning. It
combines the simplicity of a whiteboard
with the power of a computer. It lets
you deliver dynamic lessons, write notes in
digital ink and save your work – all with
the simple touch of a finger!
15. How would I use SmartBoard?
As a future educator, I plan to use
SmartBoard to instruct my students when
we are talking about a specific author or
book. I would be able to tell them to “write
down” on the SmartBoard what they know
about the author or book and we will all be
able to discuss it together.
While this service is not free, I hope that
the school I teach at is able to have it
because I know it will benefit my students
greatly.
