The book you are holding now compiles a report of LBH Masyarakat documentation conducted over one year in 2011. The results of this documentation affirms the stories we have heard before. Nearly all detainees in narcotics cases have experienced some sort of human rights violation during investigative phase, including arbitrary enforcement measures, torture and other mistreatment by the police. This book does not pretend to present a quantitative study. Instead, it provides a more qualitative analysis reflected from the findings.

· What Did Robert Merton Know, Anyway? Chapter 12 discussed Policing and Special Populations. In a 1-2 page paper, using examples from policing, determine how prejudice and discrimination intersect with each other. You are encouraged to seek examples from at least three (3) external sources. Here are some notes down below to help!! Police and Crime Prevention The idea of crime prevention as an important function of policing can be traced to Sir Robert Peel who established crime prevention as one of the Metropolitan London Police goals. Since the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice Report in the late 1960s, crime prevention has become an acceptable function of policing in America. The concept of crime prevention involves education, training, public relations, and the development of strategies to prevent criminal activities. For the last several decades, there have been a variety of crime prevention studies, programs, and strategies advocated to help prevent the individual, neighborhoods, and government and private organizations from becoming victims of crime. The community has a role to play in crime prevention. National commissions such as the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice and the National Advisory Commission on Criminal Justice and Goals brought to national attention the importance of crime prevention for the community. The goal of Community Crime Prevention Programs (CCPPs) in the 1970s indicated that community organizations and local institutions had an important role in crime prevention efforts. The goal was for the police and community organizations to provide the impetus in neighborhood crime prevention efforts. In the final decades of the twentieth century the police came to the realization, with a push from the federal government studies, that crime cannot be solved when left without the cooperation and assistance of the community. Only when citizen participation exists in crime prevention can we expect that crime can be reduced. A community crime prevention approach involves the police and the communities working together not only to reduce crime but also to prevent it. To achieve community crime prevention several techniques and strategies are put into operation. Defensible Space as a crime prevention approach is workable and to a great extent successful. Defensible space provides residents with a secure environment relatively free from crime. Another technique similar to “defensible space” is Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED). This concept holds that crime prevention involves the physical design of buildings along with citizen involvement and the effective use of police agencies. The thrust of the CPTED model implies that the physical environment can be orchestrated to prevent potential offenders from committing incidents of crime along with improving the quality of life. The third strategy to prevent crime is Situational Crime Prevent.

Extended Essay English B Criminal Rights And Culture To what extent do the rights of criminals influence the society and it’s culture? Word Count: 4000 Table of Contents: 1. Introduction 2. Crimes And Criminals 3. Society 4. Culture 5. Criminals Rights 6. The Impact of The Criminal Rights on The Individual and Society 7. Case Study 8. Conclusion 9. Bibliography Introduction To my understanding crime is any act that violates written criminal law. We all, in our societies, see crimes, such as robbery, assault, rape, murder, burglary, and embezzlement, as deviant. Therefore, it is the behavior that goes against all the norms, values and expectations of the society. Law is formally created to regulate the behavior of its members of the society, this is known as formal social control. Why do people violate laws or norms, and how the society reacts to such kind of acts? Usually, people argued that criminals who are considered a member of any society violates the rules or the law because the authorities do not provide them with the basic human needs to live a normal life so, they tend to satisfy their needs by committing crimes. On the other hand, others argued that some people on the societies have some physiological problems that they got from the nature of the environment they lived in which may lead to deviant behavior. In this essay, I will fully investigate whether different societies and authorities grant criminals their human rights. My research question is “to what extent do the rights of criminals influence the society and its culture?” In this essay, I have broken down this topic into components that are related to each other to answer the research question. Firstly, I will explore the concept of crime and its effect on the culture and the society. Also, I will investigate whether both societies and authorities provide their members the necessary means to achieve culturally valued goals to prevent deviant behavior. Secondly, I will look into both concepts of society and it’s culture that is exhibited into pattern of values, ideas, norms and it is relation to abnormal behavior that is displayed by some member of society. Further, I will discuss whether criminals are given their rights as members of the society and whether these rights will help the criminals to change their unaccepted behavior after their release from prison or these given rights to the criminals may lead another member of the society to deviant criminal behavior. Finally, I will examine a case study of two criminals that lived in different societies with one given his full rights and the other did not get any of his rights. All these questions will be fully investigated and analyzed. STEEPLE and SWOT: Things to Look For STEEPLE Analysis 1. Social Consider: Demographics, age and structure of populations, patterns of work, gender roles, public opinion, life expectancies, religions, diet and nutrition, fads, entertainment, etc. Are t ...

My teacher comments · Try to be clearer in your introduction. · Make sure it is clear exactly what form of organized crime you are looking into, what theory of social control you will use to understand our responses to it and also how big you believe the issue is. · You should cite more sources. There are none in your introduction and only one in the first four paragraphs where you are discussing definitions. · Section on constructions also needs references. · You should do more to tie in your writing about 'crime control' to the paragraphs about social control. Does the depiction of the rational offender justify the methods of crime control that you described? · You should not to explaining why the Russian mafia do what they do, more whether there is evidence that they are a serious threat. Should have a decisive conclusion · Also find some book quotes and put in the paper. Dear Sir/Madam, Re: ALARMING INSTANCE OF ORGANIZED CRIME It is with profound distress, pain and fear of death that I have decided to write this piece to you sir. The rate of organized crimes happenings in our country, at the moment, is contemptible, outrageous and extreme. I am taking off all my professional caps to implore you that you intervene within and take the appropriate measure to abort this menace out of our nation. I am writing as one among many citizens that have faced and experienced or otherwise been victimized of crime. It is with this reflection of dread fear tormenting all of us that we have opted to request your account of action. I cannot forget the pain that many citizens are undergoing ranging from old to young, men, women and children. Their lives are endangered at every step of their endeavors surviving amidst the frozen nation of war, terrorism and radicalization. Not forgetting one of our own young men and women who are being slaughtered like bulls in our own streets and cities. I appeal to you that you reflect the kind of resounding distress your people are undergoing. The place where the residents are living at the moment is insecure and marred with threats and danger. Whenever the citizens are raising voices, have in mind that they are in dire need of your intercession and help. For instance, I have received regular threats from various unknown persons due to my forward looking character to my fellow citizens. This has deeply put my life in danger. There is no doubt that the rate of crimes reported in the past has escalated alarmingly. Sir, you have to recognize the desperation our people are in for peace and this peril of criminality. This all what the citizens would plead to have now and in the future. However, this would not be possible until ...

Criminal laws specify the kinds of offenses that act against the state or society. The government prosecutes individuals or entities whose acts violate criminal statutes. It is a general term for criminal behaviors that involve stealing, drugs, and crimes like homicide, violence, robbery, and fraud. While criminal law is about the class of offenses against the government or society, its fundamental purposes are to express principles of justice, protect constitutional values, and punish wrongdoers. Therefore, the course of law and its assignments become a challenging experience due to studying complicated legal regulations, abstract concepts, and the requirement for developing legal arguments and academic research. The law assignment help services are helpful for students who have legal assignments with professional assistance from legal experts through research assistance.
