Dear Ms. Smith
In response to your call for comedy sketches for the new production, Stupendous, I
am submitting 2 scripts for your consideration, together with a treatment containing
a breakdown of the cast and logistical details for each sketch.
I have always had a passion for comedy and I have enjoyed watching comedy acts
and sitcoms on TV from a young age. I then moved on to script writing 4 years ago
and I have had a passion for it ever since.
Thank you for taking the time to look at my submission. I look forward to hearing
your response.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Liam,
Thank you for your submission of two sketches for the forthcoming production of our new sketch
show, Stupendous. The sketches you have sent show real promise; however there are a number of
issues I have with your script which make me hesitate before recommending it to our production
team. I have itemised these issues below, and I would invite you to respond.
1. The budget for the show is very tight and I am under pressure to keep the cost of each
sketch as low as possible. It would therefore be extremely helpful if the number of
characters/actors in each sketch was kept to a minimum and if the location requirements
were kept as simple as possible. Would it be possible to cut down the number of characters
and locations required for the office sketch?
2. We are aiming to make Stupendous a fully inclusive production that involves many different
types of people, including old and young, male and female, people of different ethnic
backgrounds, etc. Your sketches contain male and female, gay and straight characters, but
there are no indications of ethnic diversity. Could you adjust them to be more inclusive in
this respect?
Thank you once again for your very welcome submissions. I look forward to receiving your response.
I am sure that if you can address my concerns above then I can recommend your scripts to the
production team.
Yours sincerely,
