This lesson plan aims to teach preschool children about their families' traditions and cultures. The children will create digital stories with their families answering questions about where their family is from, what language they speak at home, and their favorite foods and holidays. The families will incorporate pictures, videos, music and podcasts from their culture. The children will then present their digital stories to celebrate diversity at their school's cultural festival in May. The teacher will assess the children based on their knowledge of their family's culture, comprehension of their family, and ability to apply words in their home language.
